Examined is storytelling as one of methods of interactive communication, a new technological art and a new way of speaking, knowing yourself and the world around us. It analyzes sufficiently wide field of application of this format from parenting to public speaking, psychotherapy to marketing in the post-advertising world. Design and media, film making and contemporary art through various languages and styles, hone their storytelling skills, one of the most popular communication skills in modern world. The role of stories in life of a person and society as a whole, as well as necessary elements, without which quality story that reaches its goal, is impossible. Reflecting global universal psychological problems, basic plots of stories symbolically reflect internal processes not consciously experienced by individual. Personal history becomes a universal format for translating internal conflicting experiences into holistic image. The authors conclude, that storytelling is becoming an important element of the modern world, forming a new type of identity, distinguishing feature of which is the question, for whom is this story intended.
