Analyzed is methodology for the analysis of ideological documents, with which it would be possible to study the social structure of modern Russia. It takes into account peculiarities of ideological material as public text, i.e. targeting mass audience, accessibility to unlimited circle of people, thematically organized. In addition to the one indicated in the article, property of ideology to reflect social reality is postulated. It is believed that the social structure is reproduced in unrecognizable form in the ideological field. At the same time, reproduction mechanism has two aspects, i.e. firstly, occupying a certain position in the social hierarchy of classes, the agent (ideologist) will reproduce it in ideological field as well, and secondly, the struggle in the ideological field reproduces in euphemized forms economic and political struggle between classes (ruling elite seeks to impose it’s worldview on everyone else). This technique is based on synthesis of classical analysis and thematic content analysis. Four persistent and major discursive topics were highlighted, in which certain elements of the social structure are reflected Russia’s place in the world; Russia in history (in historical past), Russia in the future, Russia in the present. From the latter, two additional smaller topics stand out, i.e. “elite-mass” dichotomy and attitudes toward various social groups.

Key words: ideology, documents’ analysis, social structure.
