Examined is the need to improve the entire system of vocational education, and not individual problems, that arise after the country’s economy overcomes the 2020th crisis. Recommended is to pay attention to a number of imbalances in the existing system of higher education. i.e. irrational distribution of universities and students in the country, overcrowding by paid students at Moscow universities, large number of correspondence students. Attention is drawn to decline in reputation of regional universities and branches of capital higher schools in connection with a sharp decrease in the level of the professor teaching staff.
