As part of the implementation of the project to transform higher education in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 343 dated May 12, 2023, “On Certain Issues of Improving the Higher Education System,” the Moscow Aviation Institute has been implementing new approaches to training engineering personnel for the aerospace industry since 2023.
The Institute No. 2 “Aviation, Rocket Engines, and Power Plants” at the Moscow Aviation Institute trains specialists in the design, production, testing, and certification of aviation and rocket engines, power plants, and energy and energy-physical systems at two levels of higher education: basic higher education and specialized higher education), as well as in postgraduate training.
The main task of the teaching staff and researchers who provide training for students in basic higher education and specialized higher education is to create a new educational environment: to increase the practical component of programs based on real industry projects, to introduce a module of advanced technologies, to implement end-to-end project activities, and to individualize the training of future specialists in the engine-building industry.
The article presents approaches to organizing additional professional education for scientific and pedagogical personnel based on cooperation between universities and enterprises in the engine-building industry.
Keywords: improvement of the higher education system, MAI, design of aircraft and rocket engines, advanced technologies, module, scientific and pedagogical personnel, additional professional education, program, industrial partner, internship
