Improving education in Russia leads to the need to develop modern approaches to training students in engineering areas of the aerospace field of professional activity. During the transition of the higher education system from bachelor’s, specialist and master's degrees to a new model of basic higher education and specialized higher education, one of the important tasks is to rethink the practical training of students and the correspondence of the knowledge and skills of graduates to the current requirements of industry. One of the options for implementing practical training is project-based learning. The article discusses the organization of project-based training for students of basic higher education in the aerospace field. Approaches are proposed to improve engineering education in Russia based on end-to-end project-based learning. The learning outcomes that need to be developed in students in the process of studying in technical areas of the aerospace field, related to project-based learning and current industry requirements, are noted.
