Professional formation of the architect under conditions of Russian education

Researched is the problem of reforming of architectural education. The analysis of system of architectural education in leading foreign countries and in Russia is also given, the main characteristics of architectural activities which distinguish it from other professions are provided. The concept of development of higher architectural education could be presented as the concept of movement to two main qualities: education open, civil and education creative. Important point in training of specialized architect is stage-by-stage professional formation, which includes three stages: professional self-determination, characteristic of pre-university period of architectural education, professional and personal growth, characteristic of training period in higher education institution, and professional skill, which is being reached during post-graduate period. Also revealed are notions of professional self-determination, formation of interest in art and creative activities, as well as valuable relation to professional activity and professional skill of the architect.
