The article analyzes the specifics of the socio-cultural adaptation of Mongolian students studying in Russia. The purpose of the study is to analyze the problems encountered by students from Mongolia in the process of educational, household, and communication activities. Objective factors are considered (globalization and openness of society; climatic conditions of the host country; socio-demographic and cultural characteristics of students; circumstances, institutions that influenced them in choosing a country of study, university, profession (media, family, reference group, school); organization and regulation of educational and socio-cultural life of students at the university) and subjective factors (value orientations of Mongolian students; the presence of common value foundations with Russian culture; the language factor; the level of communicative competence and motivation to overcome the communicative barrier; motivation to receive education; individual and national psychological characteristics of the personality; the level of self-organization). This paper will help to summarize the experience and understand the specifics of sociocultural adaptation of foreign students in Russia.
