Assessed is state of Russian education in connection with digitalization and globalization of educational system, and analyzed are main ideas, presented in new book of famous Russian historian and publicist O.N. Chetverikova “Digital Totalitarianism”, revealing this problematic. Agreeing with O.N. Chetverikova, who believes, that “digital innovations” of Russian reformers are destructive for mental health and mental development of children and youth, the author admits the appeal to the experience of Soviet school as an alternative to modern projects for transforming educational system.
