Presented is description of the model of formation of key research competences with possibilities of their use, taking as an example students’ contingent of National Research University — Higher School of Economics. Given is detailed description of content, stages and conditioned of the process of development of research and analytical competences. The model is possessed of both theoretical and practical meanings, as it is built in accordance with requirements of high school’s educational standards of the category of “national research university” as to stimulating research activity in students, developing in them striving for scientific creative search, as well as breeding of feelings of academic autonomy. The model adequately reflects all stages of the process of forming research competences, synchronously taking into account expectations of potential employers to the level of key research and analytical competences in future specialists.
