The article dwells on the notions of effectiveness and efficiency in education, discusses the comparative aspect of these notions to each other and in their relation to the notions of quality and validity.
The authors state that increase of effectiveness is a new objective for the sphere of education. Achievement of this objective presupposes the use of innovative modes of management aimed mostly at the 'result management' rather than at the 'process management'. The article points to the necessity of the elaboration of new normative documents regulating the measurement of indices of effectiveness and efficiency in education. A set of new indices is suggested as well as some incentives of attainment of significant results in the sphere of education.
