Modern researches in the history of higher education in Russia are analized in the article. The author states, that these researches develop ideas of 19th and early 20th centuries, being reproduction of their construct models in materials’ search and presentation. Analyzed are origins of national education in national Church’s and Polish educational institutions, and interpretation of Russian university as a part of the state system.
