Russian and international researchers identify three main problems associated with the study of psychiatry in medical schools: biased attitudes toward psychiatry in general (stigmatization), difficulties in mastering the fundamentals of psychiatry, and students' low readiness to pursue a career in psychiatry. Overcoming these challenges is an important task in teaching psychiatry. The “Psychiatric Battle” method proposed by the author is an effective tool for introducing medical students to the subject. The author has been successfully implementing this method for the past five years. An analysis of its effectiveness is the purpose and content of this paper.
