The article analyzes informational and pedagogical approaches to teaching chemistry at a medical university for students of different specialties. The study was conducted within the framework of competence, comparative and cognitive approaches, which determine the psychological and pedagogical competence of students and are the basis for practice-oriented learning.

The pedagogical conditions that promote the development of key skills in future doctors when studying chemistry as a fundamental discipline have been studied. It has been established that increasing students’ competence requires a conscious desire to use modern information technologies in their education. The role of competence-based and autonomously oriented approaches, which is important for this, has been formulated.

Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign literature, as well as practical experience in teaching the discipline “Chemistry”, as well as using the electronic educational service Online Test Pad at the Krasnoyarsk State Medical University named after prof. Voyno-Yasenetsky (KrasGMU), the best advantages of this service in the work of a teacher were identified. According to the authors of the article, this service effectively develops interdisciplinary, digital, project management and research competencies in students.

The conducted research served as a basis for the application of pedagogical methods for developing students’ professional skills, including their psychological and pedagogical competence. The obtained results ensure an increase in the quality of training of future doctors, and enhance their readiness for modern challenges in professional activity.
