The article deals with the problem of interference of the Russian language system and native language systems of foreign students in the process of teaching them the culture of Russian speech in the official-business sphere. A brief characteristic of the special course ‘Culture of scientific and official-business speech’ is given, one of the aims of which is acquaintance with the peculiarities of the official-business style of the Russian language, formation of skills of adequate communication (oral and written) in typical business situations. It declares and substantiates the necessity of taking into account the specificity of the native language (intermediary language) of students, which should determine the nature of educational comments, the degree of attention to the studied linguistic phenomena, the use of specific techniques, the sequence of studying the language material and ways of its presentation. Typical interference errors made by foreign students when studying a special course are analysed. A list of topics to which special attention should be paid in order to predict and minimise such errors is proposed. The importance of the linguistically oriented orientation of teaching foreign students the culture of Russian speech in general and the culture of business communication in particular is emphasised, which is based on the search for parallels in the word-formation, lexical and syntactic systems of the Russian language and the native language (intermediary language), as well as on the use of positive transfer of some linguistic phenomena.
