The relevance of the problem of involving Russian youth in science is determined by several factors. Firstly, in recent years there has been a decline in interest in engineering professions and, consequently, a reduction in the number of students interested in engaging in research activities. Secondly, the number of PhD thesis defenses by postgraduate graduates has decreased. As part of the research, a survey of first-year Master's degree students of MSTU “STANKIN” was conducted, which demonstrated the low involvement of young people in research activities. The article proposes the formation of a creative social system, which represents a seamless transition from one small social group to another with an increase in the level of knowledge, skills and competencies.
