Showed is importance of developing intellectual potential in modern society. The authors determine types and structural elements of intellectual potential of person, analyze scientists’ points of view on understanding modern society and its requirements for personal qualities, such as accepting uncertainty, ability to change, etc. Special attention in the structure of intellectual potential is paid to cognitive mobility as fundamental element, based on culture of thinking and verbal intelligence. Interrelation of cognitive mobility and communication skills, need to actualize internal spirituality, the role of education in formation of qualitative level of intellectual potential as a resource are substantiated.
