Discussed are problems of evaluating final qualification works of university students by state certifying commission on the base of personal experience of the author’s participation in work of these commissions. Existing practice of organizing activity of state certifying commissions at national universities was examined. Analysis of features of expert evaluation was carried out. Shortcomings of proposed methods of element-by-element scoring are shown. Theoretical and practical approaches to increasing efficiency of commission’s work on evaluation are analyzed. Also the paper reveals the most promising methods, using in organizing activity of commissions. A number of ways to improve their work are proposed.
