Analyzed is the problem of philosophy as resource base for patriotic breeding of students. Noted is that in modern Russia in conflicts with challenges of globalization and distribution of values of the open society present is necessity of ideological fundament as an answer to such, in connection with what patriotism gets the status of uniting national idea. Teaching of the course of philosophy at high schools is considered to be a resource of patriotic breeding. Development in students of abilities of philosophic reflection is directed to more deeper and detailed understanding of them their own identity. Preconditions of active citizen’s positions in solving actual problems of public life is the basis of reasoning priorities in the hierarchy of civilization values. Also possibilities of philosophy in upbringing of patriotism in the young generation were analyzed, free from distortion it’s essence forms and interpretations.
