Researched is the theme of formation of competitive qualities of personality as principal task of the system of education. Noted is, that modern practical activity of Russian high schools competition relations are not sufficiently developed, and that significantly determines the quality of education and low attractiveness of Russian universities for international students on the world market of educational services. The article examines available resources and possibilities for activation of processes of formation raising global competitiveness of Russian universities and their graduates. Characterized are main barriers to formation of competitiveness, and possible ways to overcoming of such. Also presented is the author’s view on how the process of formation of competiveness could be used in nearest perspective in educational and breeding work with students.
