Described are theoretical and practical aspects of realization of structural and didactic model of training in foreign languages. Presented are fundamental principles of constructivist didactics from point of view of both foreign and national researchers. Defined are basic theoretical and practical aspects of using constructivist functional model of training in foreign language in high school. Also characterized is practice of implementation of structural and functional model of teaching foreign languages under conditions of supplementary humanitarian education at Peter the Great Saint Petersburg state polytechnic university, realizing as extracurricular activity with the aim to allow students to raise their level of mastering in foreign language knowledge. Also the material is being supplemented with the story about Class of Linguistic Aid, organized in the framework of Cultural and Educational Center “Harmony” at Institute of Humanities of SPbPU, providing purposeful and constructive support to students in their linguistic development.
