Role of humanitarian disciplines in training of engineer cadres

Examined are psychological mechanisms of influence of humanitarian disciplines on formation of personality of future engineer. Considering personality as self-organizing multileveled regulatory system, intended for providing stability of life activity, regardless of changes in current situation, the author highlights formation of his own philosophy as main condition for achieving higher level of regulation, i.e. subject self-regulation. Central place in the system of persuasion, composing the worldview, belongs to values of personality. Corresponding reflexive process is being named formation of meaning. Skills, abilities and motives of personal reflection are forming humanitarian component of education. Conclusion is made, that the system of humanitarian disciplines at higher educational institution of technical profile should be directed on development of meanings making
