The problem of inequality between men and women is serious and needs to be studied in depth. The purpose of this article is to examine the concept of feminism, as well as to identify the attitude of modern Russian youth to this movement. The principles of feminism and the problems that this movement is fighting are described: reproductive violence, objectification of women, domestic violence, shifting blame from the perpetrator to the victim, and others. The work uses the dialectical principle, system analysis, hypothetical-deductive method. Using a survey of Nizhny Novgorod youth, the authors find out how high the level of respect, tolerance and tolerance among young people towards feminism is. The results showed a positive attitude of young people towards feminism, although the majority of respondents do not give the correct definition of feminism. The novelty of the work is the conclusion about the positive trend in the perception of feminism, in particular among the male population.
