Analyzed is the problem of test using as a method of systematic and front control and self-control in the foreign language teaching process of medical students. Examined is the possibility of using the test methods of control and self-control in combination with other control methods, that helps effectively to manage the students’ activity in foreign languages studying, organizes knowledge of grammar and contributes to vocabulary increase. Proved is that the tests are the most economical form of control and a more objective measure of the acquisition degree of linguistic material by students, compared with the results of current, individual knowledge checks. Conclusion is made, that systematic execution of tests stimulates the intellectual activity and attention of students in the classroom, increases their responsibility in educational tasks execution. Also some recommendations for the compilation of control and training-control tests are given.
