                   Analyzed is the problem of professional image of a pedagogue. The author’s point of view on evolution of professional image of a pedagogue is explained. As a model task, a paradigm is utilized. Such approach made possible to substantiate changes in professional pedagogical activity as result of reorientation of society. Epistemological position of the researcher makes possible to guarantee objective consideration of subject matter through course-and-effect relationships.
                   Key words: professional image of a lecturer, paradigm, evolutionary epistemology.
