This article raises the current problem of using country studies material in English classes in higher educational institutions. The goal of the study is to compile an approximate list of quiz tasks to monitor the assimilation of the material at the end of studying a particular topic or an entire country studies course. The product of the research was an original quiz, compiled by analogy with the TV game The Star Hour, covering such topics as the sights of Great Britain, English-speaking cultural figures and holidays of the countries of the language being studied. The proposed quiz can be used during final classes on individual topics or at the end of the course.

Keywords: country studies, linguistic and country studies, quiz-test, quiz-trivia, educational quiz, differentiated approach
