The author analyzes new forms of patriotic education of students of the law faculty of a classical university. In the process of teaching the academic discipline “Criminal Law of the Russian Federation”, it is recommended to analyze the norms of national law and the practice of its application relevant for the period of the Second World War. We can also recommend a broader study of the historical material of this academic discipline. To implement such innovative proposals, it is necessary to comprehend existing educational (work) programs in this discipline from new points of view.

Keywords: patriotism, higher education, jurisprudence, penal right, detention facilities
