Attitude to people with disabilities in modern Russian society

This article addresses the problem of attitudes to people with disabilities in Russian society. A detailed definition of the term “disabled person” is given. The historical aspect concerning the attitude to people with disabilities in Russia is disclosed. The basic concepts reflecting modern ideas about people with disabilities are considered. The main forms of relations in the system “society — disabled person” as: negative; indifferent and positive attitude are highlighted. The results of a study conducted to ascertain the attitude of modern Russian society to people with disabilities are presented and analyzed.
