The choice of the article’s topic is due to the relevance of the problem of studying the mentality in general and the professional mentality of a specialist, in particular. The analysis of existing approaches to the process of forming a specialist's professional mentality and the conducted empirical study, which included students studying clinical psychology, allowed us to formulate the main theoretical provisions and conclusions of this research, which are as follows: professional mentality is an integral, systemic quality of an individual — a dynamic formation that can transform during professional training and in professional activities, in particular. Therefore, it is necessary to purposefully form a professional mentality directly during the professional education of future clinical psychologists and improve it in their professional activities. The presented study outlined the future and proved the need for further research on the problem of the professional mentality of future clinical psychologists.
