The article presents a new approach to teaching philological disciplines, its purpose being to bring up an active and responsible member of information society. Tasks are to strengthen cultural aspects in language education through familiarizing with culturally significant texts and to develop skills of the analysis and synthesis of all kinds of texts. For this purpose integration of such disciplines as native language, fiction and rhetoric is required. Rhetoric should become the center.
