Concept of the term “edutainment” in Russian and foreign pedagogical sciences

            The article deals with meaning and essence of the term “edutainment”, i.e. education through entertainment. Some useful information about appearance and establishment of edutainment are given. The article also presents content analysis of both Russian and authentic scientific literature on the subject. Some shortcomings of terms of “edutainment” are also examined.
