Metamorphosis of academic freedom at New Times

Revealed are specific changes, which the idea of academic freedom has undergone in the epoch of New Times. Conclusion is made, that European universities were inseparable parts of the same process, that gives birth to industrial economic order and national state as typical form of political organization.
