As part of the transition to a new model of higher education, which involves a greater focus on developing practical skills in students and developing their competencies in the field of promising technologies that will be relevant for Russian and global industry in the coming decades, improving professional development programs for research and teaching staff is becoming an important factor. This paper proposes approaches to developing additional professional education in the field of structures, algorithms, and information support for modern aircraft control systems, as well as organizational and methodological aspects of designing new educational programs for training personnel for the aerospace industry, taking into account employer requirements. To this end, a modular approach to curriculum development and the formation of interdisciplinary links, as well as the individualization of educational trajectories and the application of new teaching methods in engineering fields are considered. Features of the development of basic higher education programs and specialized higher education are discussed. The structure of modern aircraft control systems, determined by industry demands and responding to innovative techniques and technologies, is considered. General conclusions are drawn about the specifics of training highly qualified engineers in the context of the transformation of higher education.

Keywords: educational process, advanced training, additional professional education, graduate employment, aircraft control systems
