The patriotism of the new era: Role of youth in formation of regional identity

The article analyzes local (regional) patriotism as a factor of identity formation among the younger generation. Systematization of diverse everyday ideas about patriotism is becoming a critically important task, especially given the growing division of opinion even among patriotically oriented citizens. In the era of global interaction and rapid shifts in the socio-economic sphere, issues related to national identity and devotion to the Motherland are becoming especially important. The goal is to study the development of patriotic education and regional identity of the younger generation. Shaping the future image of the nation is inextricably linked to the patriotic education of the younger generation, which undoubtedly plays a crucial role in this process. The study was conducted using the secondary data analysis method, based on the research of scientists over the past 5 years, as well as data from early sources. The conducted research shows the importance of well-established principles of developing patriotic feelings among young people, as well as the need to create projects with a patriotic orientation and preserve traditional Russian values.
