N.I. Pirogov’s philosophical, pedagogical, and socio-medical views predetermined the development of medicine in Russia and other countries. They are in demand and have been adopted as fundamental principles of modern medical education and practice. The following methods were used in the work: study and analysis of specialized literature, synthesis, modeling, comparison, generalization, system analysis, theoretical knowledge. The authors of the article conclude that the scientist’s concepts have come a long way from revolutionary, innovative discoveries to generally accepted standards that are now absolutely obvious and indispensable.
