In the modern world, information and knowledge have become the main resources determining the competitiveness and strategic potential of companies. In this regard, organizations are paying more and more attention to the creation, preservation and transfer of knowledge. However, innovative technologies and knowledge transfer mechanisms are not the only key success factors. Based on socio-economic theories of knowledge management and a value-based approach to the analysis of corporate culture, the authors of the article suggest paying attention to corporate culture as a decisive factor. During the analysis of the knowledge management system at VTB Bank (PJSC), using a questionnaire survey, elements of the corporate culture were identified that contribute to its development, as well as those that may negatively affect its functioning. The authors concluded that corporate culture is an integral part of the knowledge management system, which has a multifaceted impact on key processes: creation, formalization, storage, dissemination and coordination of knowledge. A culture based on trust and respect for knowledge involves all employees in the process of systematic accumulation, wide dissemination and regular exchange of knowledge. Based on the results obtained, criteria for assessing the level of the corporate culture of knowledge were proposed and recommendations for the implementation and maintenance of this culture in the organization were developed.
