The purpose of writing this article is to familiarize readers with the innovative technology of managing the research activities of a university. Unfortunately, at present, the effective management of the scientific activities of a university encounters serious difficulties that are associated with the collection and processing of data on the main indicators of the university’s research activities. The proposed technology is that the university creates an automated management system, for example, based on the 1C Enterprise 8.3 platform, which allows keeping records of the results of the university’s research activities in the following areas: branches of science, types of science, scientific directions, scientific schools, scientific specialties, both for the university as a whole, and for the authors of scientific publications: teaching staff, and students (master’s and graduate students of the university). Based on the collected data, the university management makes an appropriate decision on the continuation of the development of one or another scientific and corresponding educational direction, or on its reorganization and closure. This technology, in our opinion, will improve the quality of management of the university’s research activities.
