Traditional festive culture as a mechanism of moral education of modern youth

The article considers the potential of traditional festive culture in the moral education of youth. It is noted that in modern conditions the personality’ acquiring the Russian traditional universal values with the help of a traditional holiday by the socialization institutions can become a barrier against the possible negative impact of not the best examples of Western mass culture on the individual’s formation; resist the tendency of spreading utilitarian, individualistic values in the youth environment; reduce the contradictions between the consciousness and behavior of the group, increase the level of citizenship and moral culture.
