Influence of religious radicalism on modern youth: genesis of the problem, it’s current status and reflection in mass media (based on materials of the Republic of Dagestan)

Examined is problematic of youth involvement in radical religious groups through it’s reflection in mass media, based on example of concrete region of the RF, i.e. the Republic of Dagestan. In recent years media discourse in religious and political extremism has taken strong position in complex of ideological and informational opposition to this phenomenon. Also significantly increased the role of mass media in implementation of their core functions, i.e. their ideological and educational breeding functions. But mass media does not always meet new challenges, that manifest itself in obvious shortages as to ideological and psychological rehabilitation of young generation. The author made attempt to identify basic conditions of effectiveness of mass, as to analysis of youth involvement in extremist religious groupings and bringing up knowledge of true religion to young people.
