Presented is the author’s research work of actual scientific and practical problem, i.e. correlation of theory and practice in the process of modernization. In detail characterized is ideology of modernization, as well as detailed are key notions of such. Attention is paid to the necessity of transition to reflexive substantiation of the phenomena of modernization. Formulated and in detail investigated are basic approaches to understanding of phenomena of modernization with defining both ideological and theoretical aspects of such. Shown is, that central link in constructing of any model of process of modernization is substantiation of the notion of “modernity”. Also demonstrated is connection between ideological project of modernization and positivistic theory, on the one hand, and theoretical project and anti-positivistic program as to social theory, on the other hand.
