The article is devoted to school contests (Olimpiads) in Social Work organized by the faculty of social work at Pomor State University (now Northern Arctic Federal University) in the years of 2007 — 2010. Discussed issues are: organization, procedures and content of an olimpiad, quantitative and qualitative analysis of it’s results, as well as social goals, information culture and social competence of university entrants.
