On new trends in international universities ranking in global innovation economy

The article dwells upon contemporary problems of international university ranking systems’ upgrading. The author analyses both current status of traditional rating systems in international higher education and new trends in their reformation under modern post-crisis globalization of higher education activities.
Key words: global innovation system, international universities ranking, traditional rankings of world universities, new UN logic for universities ratings, educational and research benchmarking, trends in rating activities.
