The article is devoted to topical issues in the field of research of educational psychology and psychology of education. This paper discusses the problem of emotional stress in high school students. Emotional strain in younger adolescents affects their overall physical and psychological health, school performance, and behavior. All this determines the search for the most effective and environmentally friendly areas in the psychoprophylactic and correctional-developmental work of school psychologists who provide psychological and pedagogical support for the educational process. The authors of the article focus on studying the impact of art therapy on the emotional sphere of schoolchildren in the course of psychopophylactic work in the educational process. The results of the experiment allowed the authors to continue their empirical work and direct the study to the development and testing of a program of psychological and pedagogical support for schoolchildren experiencing emotional stress and anxiety in the conditions of educational activity. The results of the study can be useful to teachers, teachers-psychologists, as well as everyone who is interested in using art therapy in the psychological and pedagogical support of the educational process.
