Presented is investigation of opinion of volunteer group of medical students. The aim of the study is to identify factors, motivating volunteer students to participate in the all-Russian competition of practical skills «Ambulance» and to determine the impact of the competition on practice oriented training on students in medical school. Identified and analyzed are factors, affecting success of competitive projects, necessary methods of work with students. It is determined, that such events have a positive impact on practice-oriented training. Conclusions are made, that the majority of volunteer respondents support introduction of innovative methods and technologies in medical education. The authors note, that similar competitions have already been tested in Russian education system and contribute to formation of professional competencies of medical students.
