Researched is the process of social changes, that led to changes in integrity of cultural space of Russian society, formation of other segments, opposing each other in spiritual sense, that could lead to manifestations of intergenerational discrimination, antisocial orientations and criminal behavior in youth, youth extremism, ethnocentrism and terrorism as a social phenomenas. Emphasis is being made on reasons for their occurrence, and as a result of unsafe and sometimes dangerous behavior of today’s youth in social space. The phenomenon of extremality and extremism of young people is considered from various methodological points of view, special attention is paid to socio-cultural approach. Attempt is made to prove, that these forms of social behavior in socio-cultural sense are not only risk factors for safety of young people, but also threats to national security.
