Role and place of problem-based learning in contemporary higher education

Shown is that in contemporary cultural conditions problematic is becoming the norm of professional activity. Based on analysis of principal employers’ expectations from graduates of higher technical schools elaborated are main requirements to modern model of learning in higher school. Conclusion is substantiated, that in modern higher education problem-oriented learning should be seen as basic type of training, a kind of systemic basis, allowing integrate opportunities and technologies of education. Examined are possibilities of problem learning in realization of the idea of practical orientation. Proposed is based on the principle of problematical approach to structuring content of educational material in the frames of text-book. Also the role of problem-based learning as for raising efficiency of independent work of students as means for formation of experience of creative activity is being discussed.
