Presented is analysis of national and foreign experience in overcoming of extremism among youth midst and role of state youth politics in this process. Aspects of Russian youth politics, that are negatively influencing efficiency of preventive actions in frames of fight against extremism are revealed (lack of legal status of the concept of “youth extremism”, consideration of preventive measures only within informational security, growth of tolerance to xenophobia distribution, ignoring of the problem of political absenteeism among youth). Special attention is paid to American and European, in particular British and German, experience as to counteraction against distribution of extremist purposes in youth midst. Mechanisms of expansion of political participation of youth, offered the UN are considered. Also basic directions for modernization of Russian system of state youth politics in frames of prevention of extremism are formulated.
