The article presents the results of a sociological study of the reproductive attitudes of young people conducted by the focus group method. The aim of the work is to identify which views of young people should be taken into account when developing measures to support families with children, taking into account regional specifics. The pilot study allowed us to conclude that in the minds of modern young people, the family does not necessarily imply the birth of children, children complicate life and change value attitudes. Despite the fact that respondents have a generally positive attitude towards childbearing, their priorities are education, work, health, and leisure. The authors of the article also note the lack of awareness of respondents about regional support measures for families with children. While recognizing the necessity of the factor of material well-being as contributing to childbearing, respondents noted that monetary support measures have exhausted themselves, they are not the main incentive. For modern youth, the positive economic situation in the country as a whole is important, as well as the participation of society in the upbringing of children and the possibility of using social measures to help a young family.
