Discussed is practical benefits of cognitive technology of “teach to study” in general mathematical education of different levels. Actuality of the research is proved by the fact, that students often inadequately estimate their knowledge of mathematics and hide at the same time their misunderstanding. Article focuses attention on difference between knowledge and it’s understanding. If creative methods of training rely on cognitive technology, then students still develop the thinking, when they reveal gaps in understanding of difficult mathematical subject.

Keywords: university mathematical education, cognitive technology of training, developing thinking.
