Entry threshold for “Embedded systems” professional field

Discussed is the concept of “entry threshold” in relation to professional activities in the field of microprocessors technology and embedded control systems, and also analyzed are the phenomenon of decreasing this threshold and its consequences. Possible organizational and methodological ways of solving related problems on the experience of the interdepartmental center “Embedded systems of automation and computing” at Peter the Great St.-Petersburg Polytechnic University are proposed.
