Presented is analysis of theoretical aspects of the problem of formed cognitive motivation of students of higher school. Also presented are practical results of experimental work as to formation of cognitive motivation of students of university by means of using gaming technologies. The result of this study was identification of pedagogical conditions for formation of cognitive motivation of university students by means of gaming technology. Comparative analysis of research results made it possible to consider these pedagogical conditions, as well as gaming technologies, used in the experiment, as effective.
